Blog Post #33 - Location

Location, location, location!  There are a wide range of horror movie sets, but nothing beats the great outdoors.  For this scene, an empty field and woods were used.  They are easy to use and provide easy access.   They provide a wide range of opportunities for many scenes that you will see in horror movies.

The woods provide great cover for equipment and staff.  Vegetation and foliage can look eerie and cast shadows to enhance suspense in a horror movie.  With the woods, you never know what may be lurking just behind a tree or bush.

In the field, you have a lot of great options for scene that provide space.  There is something odd that alerts your senses standing out in an empty field in quietness, a feeling of loneliness that puts your body on high alert.
