Blog Post #22 - Case Study of "Your Next"

These are all the shots for the opening scene of Your Next. The purpose of these case studies is to give me ideas about what my opening scene should look like.

- Close up of dvd player

- Close up (dvd screen)

- close up (ice in glass)

-close up (liquid pouring into glass)

-mid shot (girl looking over her shoulder)

-mid shot (guy getting out of shower)

-close up (guys face)

-focus (foreground blurred)

-close up (guys back of head)

-mid shot (guy getting strangled by man in mask)

-close up of knife

-close up of guys face

-zoom in on knife

-close up of guys face

-close up of knife

-close up of a man driving

-mid shot of a house going past

-low angle of man in mask

- The close ups of objects may be used to not give too much away about what's about to happen

- The close ups of the face may be used to show emotion through facial expressions

- The close ups of the knife may be used to intensify the scared feeling

- The mid shots may be used to capture the scene but not draw attention away from the character

- The shallow focus may be used to emphasize the character and not the surrounding environment

- The zoom in shot may be used to draw attention to the knife and add suspense

- The low angle shot may be used to show that the villain is "stronger" and in charge
