I am going to be honest; I had no clue what my final project was going to be. I kept having ideas, like maybe an underdog, but then I could not figure out how that would play out into a movie opening. I wanted to do a comedy but could not find a concept that actually has a solid base to build on, I had the same problem with romance, drama, history, etc... However, I think I may have finally picked a genre and concept.
I want to do something scary but also with a cliffhanger and a little mystery. I have never been good with genres except for horror. I personally don't like horror movies, but I do love to scare people. So, I thought what better way to represent myself in my final project than a horror movie. However not just any horror movie, instead it will have mystery and a cliffhanger.
When thinking of the opening scene I had plenty of ideas. My first one included a jump scare, but I thought those were too predictable. Instead, I decided to do a mystery and cliff hanger, a clip to hook the audience into watching the rest of the movie.
My rough outline of this opening is a girl running through the woods and a dark figure chasing her, with different angles points of view, then one extended shot of the girl heavy breathing and leaning against a tree. I wanted to end that scene with the sound of like a branch snapping just to add in a little more mystery and scare factor.
